Snohomish County is the third largest and among the fastest growing counties in Washington State. The county is located immediately north of King County (Seattle) and has a total area of 2,196 square miles, with 2,089 square miles covering land and 107 square miles covering water.

Fire departments operate with personnel ranging from an all career staff, to a combination, to an all volunteer staff. Each fire department provides emergency medical services ranging from Basic Life Support (BLS) to Advanced Life Support (ALS).
